observation of the day: The 5 Second Rule.

"...People are more likely to pick up cookies or candy off the floor... [because of] low levels of naturally occurring microflora..than they are likely to pick up cauliflower or broccoli."

Um, something tells me no one considers the microbial content of cookies or candy when in regard to the 5-second rule. The aforementioned is valued at a higher rate than the veggies - and what happens is,

Variable:

    1. Cookie or candy hits floor
    a) person thinks, "Oh shit!" and picks it right up without hesitation, inevitably to eat
as opposed to
    2. Veggie hits floor,
    a) person says, "Here, doggie!" and leaves it for pooch consumption.

You learn something new everyday (and this is the Jamieway of being scientific).
